Aritist-in-Residence Tyler Wilkinson

For the first time in its existence, Cincinnati’s Manifest Gallery has engaged an artist-in residence. Painter Tyler Wilkinson has been working with the gallery for some time, so he joins our Jane Durrell in the studio to discuss the experience so far, the type of work he’s been doing, and what he hopes to accomplish before his residency is completed.

Deal proposed to save Melrose YMCA in Walnut Hills

Walnut Hills residents who want to keep a YMCA facility open in their neighborhood have until today to respond to a deal that will do that. 


A couple Cincinnati Council Members worked on the agreement with YMCA officials. 


Wendell Young said it keeps the Melrose Y open for two more years with additional hours and funding. 


In 2015, the community can take over the facility if it doesn't like the Y's plan for it.

Council to vote on tax breaks for neighborhood projects

Cincinnati Council will vote Wednesday on plans to provide tax breaks for neighborhood projects in Walnut Hills and Linwood.  

The Walnut Hills project calls for adding 24 market rate rental units and two commercial spaces in buildings located on Walnut Street and East 15th Street.  

The developer said right now the structures are uninhabitable.  The total construction cost for this project is about $432,000.
