Poetry takes on a distinctly feline voice with selections such as “Kneel Before Me,” “Who Is That On Your Lap,” and “Some Of My Best Friends Are Dogs.” This collection of cat verse (and accompanying photos), brought to us by Mark Perzel’s guest, Francesco Marciuliano (author of the internationally syndicated comic strip Sally Forth), is aptly titled I Could Pee on This: And Other Poems by Cats.

New technology meets America’s pastime in sports photographer Brad Mangin’s new book: Instant Baseball: The Baseball Instagrams of Brad Mangin. As he tells Mark Heyne, he spent the entire 2012 baseball season, from spring training through the World Series, photographing the game and the players with Instagram on his iPhone4s, not his usual Canon cameras.

In the Taft Museum of Art’s current side-by-side exhibits, visitors will discover the long and rich history of the photographic arts in Cincinnati, dating back to the mid-1800’s and the introduction of daguerreotypes, as well as see an amazing collection of rare and historical daguerreotypes. Mark Perzel welcomes in Assistant Curator Tamara Muente to talk about the impact the daguerreotype made, why Cincinnati become such a hub for the art form, and what visitors can expect to see in the exhibits Local Exposures: Cincinnati Daguerreotypes and Photographic Wonders: American Daguerreotypes from The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
