Iconic local music legend Bobby Mackey is in the studio with Brian O’Donnell in advance of his March 9 appearance at the main branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. During that talk, he’ll share stories of his music career and of his haunted nightclub in Wilder.

Soldier Come Home

The Newport Branch of the Campbell County Public Library will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War with a presentation of the dramatic Soldier Come Home, a play based on the historic Civil War Letters of Mary Luke Pringle, her husband Philip W. Pringle, and family members, written 1859-1865, presented by the Falcon Theater. Music of the era will be provided by the trio Raison d’Etre. Jim Stump talks with two of the actors, Ted Weil and Elizabeth Molloy, about this historic, and emotional, production taking place on Friday, January 25.

Albert Pyle, the longtime director of downtown’s Mercantile Library, joins Mark Perzel to discuss their 2013 Lecture Series, including the annual Niehoff Lecture and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Lecture. The library, located at 4th and Walnut, prides itself on being the literary center of the city and houses an impressive collection of books and artwork.
