Author Robert Skead has been a successful children’s author for quite some time, but his new e-book finally puts together a story around his hometown hero, and Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer, Johnny Vander Meer. In Catching Rainbows: The story of Johnny Vander Meer's Back to Back No Hitters, he pays tribute to the man who put Midland Park, New Jersey on the map. Local artist and author Loren Long recently released Otis and the Puppy, the latest in his Otis the Tractor series of children’s books. He stops by to talk with our Barbara Gray about this new book and what new Otis books are in the works.

Robyn Carey-Allgeyer welcomes to the studio Jennifer Jensen, director of The Skirball Museum at Hebrew Union College; and children’s author Linda Leopold Strauss, whose book about Passover, The Elijah Door, will be the focus of a six-week exhibition of the book’s illustrations at The Skirball. The exhibit runs through March 31, and that day will feature a family-friendly talk by the author at the museum.
