one-hour weekly showcase of music and information from Africa, the Caribbean,
and the Americas, Afropop Worldwide blends a rich array of global music
with lively interviews and insightful stories on world-class talents and the
music they create. Zimbabwe’s Thomas Mapfumo and Senegal’s Youssou N’Dour are
just two of the artists whose live performances and interviews have been
featured on the program. Hosted by Cameroon’s own Georges Collinet, Afropop
Worldwide is heard on over 100 stations in the U.S., as well as stations
throughout
Europe and
Africa,
including South Africa.

Hosted
by Miami University students, this eclectic music show features a jazz base with
some blues, folk, new age and world music added to spice up the recipe. It's a
great way to study, to wind down the weekend or to get ready for what comes
next.
Oak Street Ramble
(8 – 10p.m. Saturdays)
Since 1980, Oak Street Ramble has surveyed the best of contemporary and traditional bluegrass music, a
distinctly American music idiom with its roots in folk music and its branches in
jazz. Taking its name from the street WMUB calls home, Oak Street Ramble
is hosted by Jan McLaughlin and pays its musical respects each week with great
music, artist features, birthdays and music announcements.
Overnight Jazz
(Midnight - 5a.m. Weekdays, Midnight - 8a.m. Weekends, 9p.m. - Midnight Sundays)
Jeff Fox, Tony Mowod, and others bring listeners great jazz from the past and
present during the late night hours on WMUB.
The Putumayo World Music Hour
(3 – 4p.m. Sundays)
The Putumayo World Music Hour is an internationally syndicated radio show that
takes listeners on a global musical journey every week.
Hosted by Dan Storper and Rosalie Howarth, the
Putumayo World Music Hour is a weekly journey through the music of many
different cultures, featuring appealing and accessible songs. Playlists include
well-known names like Bob Marley, Sting, Loreena McKennitt, and Santana, along
with exceptional, underexposed international artists. The one-hour radio program
also features interviews with world-class music makers such as Los Lobos,
Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Osborne, and Taj Mahal who eagerly support
and have been influenced by world music.

Swinging on the Gate

Saturdays)

host Jan McLaughlin for a no-boundaries hour of contemporary folk and acoustic
music. The gate swings open to the world of singer-songwriters, Celtic and world

Each week World Cafe with host David Dye serves up an eclectic mix of
music from blues, rock, and world, to folk, and alternative country. Each show
features live performances and interviews with celebrated & emerging artists.
The Cafe also presents segments on books, movies, TV and plays related to music.
The program is produced at the studios of XPN in
Philadelphia on the campus of
the University of Pennsylvania.
