"The Alzheimer's Prevention Program"

There is no denying the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease on the patient as well as the loved ones. And while there is no cure for this disease, there may be easy, practical ways to help stave off the disease. Dr. Gary Small is one of the country’s leading experts in Alzheimer’s and he’s written a book  The Alzheimer's Prevention Program: Keep Your Brain Healthy for the Rest of Your Life, that provides tips and suggestions for physical and mental exercises, nutrition and more that are considered brain healthy. Dr. Small stops by the studio to spend a few minutes with Mark Perzel discussing the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, and some of the suggestions in his book.

Ohio Alleycat Resource

It’s probably not a surprise to hear that there are too many cats roaming the streets of Cincinnati. Feral, abandoned, lost…these cats are often not spayed or neutered, and that leads to more and more litters of homeless kittens. But as Thane Maynard learns, there is an organization working to address this problem. He welcomes in Devon Smith, Spay & Neuter Clinic Director for Ohio Alleycat Resource, who talks about the three ways her organization is trying to reduce the stray cat population.

Movie Review: Side Effects

It’s fun to see a film that is a carefully constructed cat-and-mouse game, particularly when the ensuing events play havoc with the plans of either the cat or the mouse or both. Hitchcock was a master of the genre, and other directors have fared well with this premise.

2013 Cincinnati International Wine Festival

Starting March 7, the annual Cincinnati International Wine Festival will begin three days of tastings, wine dinners, auctions and grand tastings at the Duke Energy Convention Center. This year’s Honorary Chairman is Donald Patz, founder of Patz and Hall, one of California’s premier single vineyard wineries. Mr. Patz spends a few minutes before coming to town to talk with Mark Perzel about his winery, the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines they specialize in, and being part of the Cincinnati International Wine Festival.
