What is podcasting?

Podcast users choose what they want to hear, when they want to hear it. You can listen to podcasts from your computer, or transfer them to an iPod or other player.

Podcasting supplies XML files rather than the HTML files of typical web pages. When you paste an XML address into your podcast software (called an "aggregator"), you will see a list of downloadable files. Podcasts update automatically as providers furnish new content.

How to receive a podcast:

1) Download and launch a podcast aggregator such as Apple's iTunes. Some other aggregators are listed here.

2) Copy one of the XML addresses in the right hand column below.

3) Paste this address in the appropriate place in your aggregator (in iTunes, it's "Subscribe to Podcast" under the "Advanced" menu).

4) In some cases, you can click on the link in the left hand column below and see a display with links in your browser window. However, not all internet browsers are currently able to display XML fields correctly, so you'll need steps 1-3 above.
