Why bipartisan group of lawmakers wants a ban on traffic enforcement cameras

A Hamilton County judge ordered Elmwood Place to stop using traffic cameras, saying they're a scam against motorists.

Last week's decision by a Hamilton County judge ordering Elmwood Place to stop using its traffic enforcement cameras is giving new energy to a group of Ohio lawmakers who want a statewide ban, House Bill 69, on the devices.

Several state representatives at a news conference in Elmwood Place Monday said the cameras pose a couple of problems:

First there's the money grab argument. That's the position laid out by Democratic State Rep. Dale Mallory of Cincinnati.

Warren County Fairgrounds gets a boost from racino developer

The Lebanon Raceway will be moving from the county fairgrounds to the new racino facility.

The company opening a racino in Turtlecreek Township says it's committing $3 million to revitalizing the Warren County Fairgrounds. 

Miami Valley Gaming is contributing  $1 million  this year that will support redeveloping the current Lebanon Raceway at the fairgrounds.  The raceway is being moved to the new gaming and racing complex that will be built. 

The company is also contributing $500,000 per year for the next four years.

Reds start selling single game tickets tomorrow

Spring training is underway, next comes ticket sales as another sure sign that baseball season isn't far off.

Single game tickets for Reds regular season home games go on sale Saturday morning at 9, excluding Opening day on April 1.

Training for the big night
