Cincinnati vies for major convention

Cincinnati finds itself on a list of five finalists to host an international convention in 2015. Julie Calvert with the Cincinnati USA Convention and Visitors Bureau says a selection committee for Lions Club International is visiting the city through Wednesday. The city is competing with Boston, Tampa, Honolulu and Manchester, England. Calvert says if the city is successful, this would be the second largest convention ever held in Cincinnati. It's expected the event would bring up to 36,000 hotel room nights and have an economic impact between $7.4 and $10.5 million. Calvert says Lions Club International will announce its final decision in April.
