Cincinnati Men's Chorus present "Loud & Proud"

One of the highlights of this year’s Cincinnati Pride Week will be the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus concert entitled Loud and Proud, taking place June 22 and 23 at the School for Creative and Performing Arts downtown. Artistic Director Casey Hayes is in the studio with our Jim Stump with details on this year’s program and the historical significance of this concert at gay rights.

Actor Rachel Leslie grew up in Golf Manor and attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts. She’s back in town, performing in the Playhouse in the Park production of A Trip to Bountiful. Mayerson Foundation Artistic Excellence Program

Jeff Seibert from Cincinnati’s The Mayerson Foundation, one of the primary funders of the new School for Creative and Performing Arts, joins Frank Johnson to discuss the impressive Mayerson Foundation Artistic Excellence Program, which brings talented musicians and performers to the SCPA to present master classes to the students. In the coming months, internationally known artists such as Branford Marsalis, Bebe Neuwirth, Chick Corea and composer Jennifer Higdon will conduct these master classes.

Benjamin Carlson-Berne Memorial Scholarship

The Benjamin Carlson-Berne Memorial Scholarship was established to provide instrumental music lessons for underserved youth in the Cincinnati community. To raise funds, they will host a benefit concert on February 1 with acclaimed pianist Terrence Wilson.
