Museum members and guests gathered Friday morning as the countdown began.</p><p>Sarah Bowman and her&nbsp;2 1/2-year-old daughter Mimi of Fairfield waited patiently to the sounds of Jimmy Buffet music. The exhibition <a href="http://www.cincymuseum.org/dead-sea-scrolls"><strong>Dead Sea Scrolls: Life and Faith in Ancient Times</strong></a> opened recently and will be in Cincinnati through mid-April.<a href="http://religion.sdsu.edu/faculty/levitt-kohn.htm"><strong> Dr.&nbsp;Risa Levitt Kohn</strong></a>, co-curator of this exhibition and professor of Hebrew Bible and Judaism at San Diego State University, recently sat down with Mark Perzel to discuss the importance of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, what visitors can expect to see when they visit, and the extreme care that is taken to preserve these artifacts.</p><p> Fri, 30 Nov 2012 05:31:25 +0000 Mark Perzel 6526 at http://wmub.org Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibition Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit in Cincinnati http://wmub.org/post/dead-sea-scrolls-exhibit-cincinnati <p>They're some of the most important historical documents ever discovered and now they're here in Cincinnati.</p><p>The Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit opens Friday, November 16th at the <a href="http://www.cincymuseum.org/dead-sea-scrolls" target="_blank">Museum Center</a>.</p><p>It features more than 600 objects ranging from pottery to the scrolls themselves.</p><p>Uzi Dahari is deputy director of archaeology with the Israel Antiquity Authority.</p><p>"All these phases in making a monotheistic nation, we can see in this exhibit step by step.
